Steve Miller - Let Your Hair Down
“When asked what the album was about Steve replied ‘Having a party’. I pressed him for more. ‘It’s about having a good time”. I thought we needed an image or a design that is not about having a good time, but about giving you a good time, there and then. I guess, simply put, an image that makes you smile a little when you look at it. On seeing the design Steve said ‘I like this but I don’t get it. Why does the rabbit need a ladder to get up?’ I said ‘No, it’s a hare, and the ladder is not for going up but for coming down, as in ‘Let your hair down’, which we all know is an expression for having a good time. It’s both metaphor and not real, because the bald man has no hair’.” Storm Thorgerson
