David Sherry is a performance artist.
Sherry's work provides an insight into the cultural codes and learned behaviors revealed in conversations, radio programs, newspaper articles or banal incidents in the street. Sherry provides another way of thinking about the aspirational philosophy often found in this type of exchange, peering into the laws of the social mesh, repelling an accepted discourse and embracing other forms of meaning common to us all.
In 2003, Sherry was selected to represent Scotland at the 50th Venice Biennale and his work is held in many collections including the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art. This item was printed at Peacock Visual Arts during Deveron Arts residency.
