Memories - Richard Fuller
Art on A4:
In partnership with the RA, CultureLabel created a competition for the Friends of the Royal Academy, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the membership scheme.
The brief: Create a work of art on A4 that expresses what the Royal Academy of Arts mean to you?
The chosen artworks were selected by the judges Charles Saumarez-Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the RA, and Lucy Baxter, Commercial Director of CultureLabel - they carefully selected one winner and five runners up from over 100 excellent submissions!
This is one of six listings presenting these finalists - available now and in limited quantities.
'To me the Royal Academy means colour and inspiration; inspiration in the form of exhibitions which have influenced my development as an artist over the years. I have special memories of particular exhibitions including "The Gelman Collection" (my first RA Exhibition), "Monet in the 90's", the Egon Schiele, Fauve, Van Gogh and David Hockney Exhibitions among others. I always enjoy the exuberant colours of the Summer Exhibition and recall catching up on the latest works of my favourite Royal Academicians over the years, such as Frederick Gore, Adrian Berg, Barbara Rae and Gillian Ayres.'
