About the Artist
Fuller draws intricate maps that narrate the identity of places. Using extensive research, walking exploration, local knowledge and lived experience, he draws out their complex personalities. His meticulous ink drawings constitute a kaleidoscope of comments on contemporary culture and society, entwined with curiosities, historical facts, personal memories, stories and humour.
His work has been acquired by The British Library, Museum of London and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery for their permanent collections and can be found in many private collections around the world.
By mapping events he provides a subjective account which is instantly relatable. In doing so, the artwork places prominence on shared knowledge and experience, a distinctive characteristic of Fuller's work. It is in the moments of contemplation that a dialogue begins whilst poring over the map, whether the intended story is teased out or new stories are added - the art creates conversation.
