Legacy Tunes is a limited edition vinyl that was specially produced as part of the successful commission and exhibition South London Black Music Archive by Barby Asante which ran at Peckham Space from 17 January to 24 March 2012.
Peckham Platform: One of the founding items of the South London Black Music Archive was Legacy Tunes. This limited edition vinyl was a result of the artist's collaboration with young people from the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) mentoring programme. It features a soundscape with recordings of members of LOT discussing the songs that inspire them alongside tracks by Michael Jackson, Edvard Grieg, Nigerian singer Prince Nico Mbarga and Bob Dylan and others.
There are just 1000 available.. Every piece has been signed and numbered by Barby Asante.
