About the Artist
Jane Topping graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1999 before serving on Glasgow’s Transmission Gallery committee. She has exhibited in group shows internationally and in solo shows at Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art, Intermedia at The C.C.A. and Patricia Fleming Projects, Glasgow.
In 2007/08 Jane was the recipient of The Scottish Arts Council Amsterdam Residency and she is currently Programme Leader of Fine Art BA (Hons) at the University of Cumbria.
Recent exhibitions include group shows The Luck of Edenhall, The Old Firestation, Carlisle (2014), Plus Jamais Seul, Standards, Rennes, France (2013), The Nabokov Paper, The Laurence Sterne Trust, Shandy Hall, North Yorkshire (2013) & The Irregular Correct: New Art From Glasgow, Fremantle Arts Centre, Australia (2012). Solo shows include The Women, Patricia Fleming Projects, Glasgow (2013), There’s Some on Her Palm and in the Crook of Her Arm, Nomi’s Kitchen, Glasgow (2011) & Black Magic, Glasgow Project Room, Trongate 103, Glasgow (2010).
Jane’s film Peter premiered at The 12th International Festival Signes de Nuit, Institut Finlandais, Paris, September 20th 2014 & was in competition at the 31st International Short Film Festival, Hamburg, June 2015.
