Part of The British Museum's Made in Britain range, this tie is handmade from brightly coloured Harris Tweed fabric in Scotland.
Harris Tweed is the only fabric in the world which is governed by its own Act of Parliament. It is only made in Scotland on the Isle of Harris or the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
Harris Tweed is thicker than the other Scottish tweeds. Though like the other types, the colours are striking and within each tweed, upon close inspection, a rainbow of colours can be found. In this design, the Harris Tweed fabric is contrasted against a patterned cotton lining.
An ideal gift for those who appreciate craftsmanship, the tie is dyed, spun and hand- woven in the home of the weaver and then finished in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
Each tie is made from a unique swathe of fabric so patterns will vary, as shown. One will be selected at random when you place your order.
