This signed giclee limited edition on 308 gsm archival Hahnemule Photorag paper is one of Magnus Gjoen’s amazing Delft series. In this piece an AK-47 is made to look like a piece of beautiful fragile porcelain.
Magnus’s work challenges people’s preconceived notions of objects by taking potentially extremely destructive objects and transforming them into an elegant and fragile objects worthy of contemplation and admiration. To create this image Magnus first builds a virtual 3D base outlining it in illustrator, he then meticulously shadows and highlights it in Photoshop. The original flat etching for the porcelain is then carefully layered and blurred over the base to create the final stunning image.
