About the Artist

Artist and designer David Saunders graduated from Chelsea College of Art and assisted Tracey Emin, Mat Collishaw and other Young British Artists before launching fashion and interiors label David David in 2008. His bold geometric prints have since become synonymous with the brand and featured in collaborations with the likes of Louis Quatorze, Fred Perry and Rimowa.

David David's 2012 collaboration with furniture designers Glass Hill featured in the V&A's British Design from 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age. Jameel Prize nomination followed in 2013 (an award for contemporary art and design organised by the V&A), and the brand went on to collaborate with Studiomama on a range of chairs nominated for Designs of the Year 2013. A commission for the London Design Festival 2014 saw David David re-tile the walls of the V&A's tunnel entrance with more than 50 sq m of printed ceramics (Carousel Wall 2014, supported by Johnson Tiles).

“David David is the poster boy for the London crossover between art and fashion”, Sarah Mower, American Vogue.

"David David typifies the interests of a younger generation in the authenticity of the process", Ghislaine Wood, Victoria and Albert Museum.
