Allen Jones
English painter, sculptor and printmaker, Allen Jones, is an Artist who has fuelled controversy and debate throughout his career. Perhaps most well-known for his sculptures Hatstand, Table and Chair which comprise near life-size models of bondage-clad women, incorporated into pieces of domestic furniture. The works greeted impressive sales and also great anger amongst feminist groups.
Jones studied at Hornsey College of Art, London. spending 1959–1960 at the Royal College of Art, where he was associated with the rise of Pop Art. His works have influenced everything from design to film and fashion.
