Rebecca's work is an extraordinary mix of truth and beauty; she is able to engage her audience with brutal observations about life, love, money and culture with her simple, honest and often humorous interpretation of the modern world"
(Laura Lea, curator)
Rebecca Mason is an artist using light to convey the darkness within human life, existence and emotion. This is often accompanied by a dry, self-deprecating sense of humour and candid confessions aimed at recognising and accepting our imperfections. The premise for each piece of work usually begins by referencing a feeling or event in her personal life, a micro moment in her existence which is then broadened to reflect the theme on a macro, collective, basis.
