Last Days of Summer
Acrylic on paper
30 x 40 cm
From the series of Paola Minekov’s Californian landscapes, this is one of the cleanest. The work depicts a vast landscape with three tall palm trees in focus, painted in the artist’s recognisable geometric style. Palette is bright, made of blue, orange and yellow contrasts, describing a calm and optimistic atmosphere. As usual, the emotional experience of the artist plays the key role in this landscape, as the viewer can almost sense the immense amount of air and water hiding behind the elegant lines of the trees.
About The Artist:
Paola views her art as a visual diary of her life. To paint is her way of analysing and understanding the world. Paola’s themes are always derived from everyday experiences and impressions. In her paintings she explores topics like movement, energy, contrast and the mystery of emotions and is interested in how they interconnect into body language as the true expression of the individual.
In the last few years Paola Minekov has been involved in a number of high profile public art projects, she created the Colourful World Egg for the Faberge Big Egg Hunt and is currently working on a large scale mosaic at the Institute of Education in London, as well as painting Twiggi (the intu elephant) for the upcoming Elephant Parade UK.
