To celebrate the opening of Sicily: Culture and Conquest, The British Museum are giving you the chance to win a stunning pair of earrings from the collection!
The prize: Sicilian Lava Drop Earrings by Roberto Intorre worth £55
The exhibition is a ‘historically illuminating and visually stunning’ look at Sicily as a cultural centre of the ancient and medieval world says The Times.
The Sicilian Lava Drop Earrings have been handcrafted by Roberto Intorre especially for The British Museum using sterling silver and lava from Mount Etna, the infamous Sicilian volcano.
Roberto Intorre is a Sicilian jeweller who is inspired by the concept of Sicilian identity and the land itself, rich in traditions, colour and knowledge. Roberto studied Architecture at the University of Palermo and produced a thesis on 'Jewellery and Architecture'. This experience influences his sculptural, striking designs. Roberto’s jewellery incorporates lava beads, a product of the volcanic eruptions of Mount Etna, which dominates the landscape of Sicily.
