Product Description

'The realisation of ideals is scheduled for another time.' A watershed in post-war British art, 'This is Tomorrow' took place at the Whitechapel Gallery in 1956. The exhibition was conceived by The Independent Group and devoted to the possibilities of collaboration between architects, painters and sculptors. Introducing Pop Art to a mass audience, 'This is Tomorrow' placed art in a time-based perspecitve that relied on the future to complete it. To honour this seminal exhibition, 'This is Tomorrow' adorns our alarm clock - an insistent reminder of the pressing needs of tomorrow, today.
