Product Description

The New Country Style series offers a fascinating insight into how a new generation of creative talents are redefining the rural lifestyle. The first book in the series, The New Country Style: England, presents a delightful range of rural retreats, seaside cottages, modernized manors and cutting-edge conversions that combine stylishness with natural chic. From a colourful cottage in Norfolk and a remote coastguard's tower in Kent, to a Yorkshireman's Brit Art collection housed in a former chapel, twenty country gems are presented in a modern design that evokes a genuine sense of place and offers inspirational ideas for any home. Six of the most stylish country-house hotels are also included for those who want to experience getaway chic first-hand. Ingrid Rasmussen studied graphic design and photography. She was the original photographer for Thames & Hudson's StyleCity series, and her travel photography has appeared in Condé Nast Traveller and The Sunday Times, while her interiors photography has featured in Elle Decoration, The Telegraph Magazine and The Independent. Chloe Grimshaw studied fine art and art history before establishing herself with a regular interiors column for The Independent Magazine. She now writes about art, design, travel and interiors for a variety of publications, including The Telegraph, The Independent and The Sunday Times.
