Pure Evil is an East London based artist who owns his own gallery in Leonard Street. Popular culture plays a very important part in his work. He is a huge Hammer fan and cites the film company as one his principal sources of inspiration: 'I have used this image (of Christopher Lee) covertly before, but doing something extra special with permission of HAMMER is just brilliant. I think what makes old black and white vampire films so spooky is that most of the violence is off camera and the horror is all imagined, the imagination is where real horror comes from.'
