Designer maker Rebecca Gouldson has created a small enamel and copper brooch as part of the limited edition Buy Black Country range. Inspired by historical enamels which were crafted in Bilston, UK from the 1700s – 2010, this work celebrates synonymous association between the Black Country town and enamelling.

My love of drawing and printmaking is directly related to the marks made on the metal. The surfaces are created by stamping, rolling, scribing and plating the metal, as well as using various etching techniques and patinas. All these processes produce distinct qualities of line and texture and are combined with an instinctive approach to working with metal
