School of Life

We have been chomping at the bit all weekend to tell you about the School of Life event we went to on Friday night. After watching their progress like hawks since reading about them in The Independent approximately a year ago we finally got a place on one of their ultra-popular but over-subscribed events.
The off-beat idea was cooked up between Caroline Brimmer and Sophie Howarth during their time as Tate curators: if there really was such a thing as a universty of life, what and how would it teach? They identified 5 themes that appeal to people universally, politics, love, work, family and play, and now offer ways to explore these themes through culture. With a faculty including philosophers, journalists, academics and artists, they put together a set of courses that no other school could come close to offering.
how cool?
