Manchester International Festival is upon us again and what a line up for 2011! It might be a relative newcomer but the festival has rapidly established itself as a favourite on the culture calendar with triumphs like Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn’s production of Monkey, Journey to the West, Punchdrunk’s incredible and scary It Felt Like a Kiss and Elbow’s collaboration with the Hallé orchestra.

Damon is back again this year with a new opera, Dr Dee about a 16th century alchemist and check out Björk’s highly-acclaimed Biophilia project, a multimedia project celebrating how sound works in nature, exploring the infinite expanse of the universe, from planetary systems to atomic structure.

And one to make the adults green with envy is The Crash of The Elysium,  the first ever ‘children only’ show by Punchdrunk produced with the team behind Dr Who.

The festival runs from 30 June to 17 July and this year CultureLabel is celebrating the event with our newest partner BannerBags, selling a range of official festival bags innovatively upcycled from banners from previous festivals and advertising campaigns. The brilliant range of shoulder, laptop, flight and tote bags are all available to buy on CultureLabel here.
