Rock the Covers:London Calling:Ray Lowry Exhibit and Tribute, London, June 18 to July 4
The great team at Idea Generation in London showcases the work of 30 Top UK artists paying tribute to Rock n’ Roll cartoonist Ray Lowry alongside the man’s own pieces.

The exhibition will feature contributions from the likes of Billy Childish, Nick Hornby, Tracey Emin, Harry Hill, Paul Simonon and Humphrey Ocean who created reinterpretations of The Clash’s iconic London Calling album cover, maybe Ray Lowry’s most famous piece, for the 30th Anniversary of the album’s release.
The original sketches, designs and ideas for the album cover, private sketchbooks, personal letters and previously unseen photographs, paintings and more will be on show. Many people also remember Ray Lowry ‘s cartoons for British music weekly, the NME.

It will be followed by an After Show Party from 8pm – 2am at The Horse & Groom, Curtain Road in Shoreditch with live performances from The John Moore Rock & Roll Trio and Rum Shebeen (Strummerville) plus DJ sets from Barry ‘Scratchy’ Myers (Clash’s tour DJ) and Lois and Jon.
