Cabinet Of Living Cinema is a meeting of artists dedicated to creating “living cinema” experiences through live performance.
Culture Label spoke exclusively to Rob Parkinson who, along with Keiron Maguire, founded Cabinet Of Living Cinema and along with a collective of another dozen people, they work with outside artists (who they call conspirators).
Working with a number of organisations, venues and festivals who support their vision, they see themslves as a conduit which provides a platform for live cinema acts and new filmmakers as well as a chance to see rarely-seen animation and avant-garde films.
In partnership with live cinema pioneers Future Shorts, The Cabinet of Living Cinema bring live scores and live animation to cities across England including Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Bristol and Bournemouth on their Cabinet Tour 2010.

In addition to surrealist experiments, Czech claymation, Russian animated oddities, British Transport films and other rarely-seen masterpieces from the last century, The Cabinet Tour features some of the most innovative short films of recent years courtesy of Future Shorts.

For each date of the tour The Cabinet of Living Cinema will also be joined by a special live cinema guest (to be announced).

The Beck’s Vier Music Inspires Art UK Tour is just the latest in Beck’s long-standing series of collaborations with musicians and artists and will include The Horrors, Metronomy, Little Boots DJ set, Hudson Mohawke, Ariel Pink and more !

The guys are also looking for new work from filmmakers to put live soundtracks to their work so if this interest you, take a look at the this link for further details.
