This Saturday in Glasgow it’s the Stag & Dagger festival and, we’ve brought you dub mucker Joker, the most ranted about band on the planet right now – the Rick Rubin Ting Tings – Sleigh Bells, the awesome Crocodiles, Egyptian Hip-Hop and loads of other bands you like. However, there’s also the Synth Eastwood Collective, who do cool art things and who you probably haven’t heard of. Read on to hear of them.
Synth Eastwood is a creative collective of musicians, DJs, designers, artists from Dublin, whose thing is getting people to participate. Their Stag & Dagger “GIF Shoot” project sounds pretty fun; they’ll be out in Glasgow taking people’s photographs for a few days before the event on Sat 22nd, then will edit them into little stop animations which then get projected large scale in the Art School space on the night of Stag & Dagger.

CultureLabel met up with Karl from Synth Eastwood for a chat.

The idea is that everyone at Stag & Dagger could end up being part of the installation on the night and you can then download your animated portrait at the Diesel Facebook after the event – it then works on your phone, desktop, etc. This was their last show in Birmingham.

They also have lots more artists and musicians and things and probably serve drinks, so even if you’re curmudgeonly you can just show up and take the piss out of fun people while getting pissed at the bar.
