To the launch of the animatronic dinosaurs that will be stalking the arenas of this land this summer, and very scarily lifelike they are as they charge about the O2 roaring and emitting nostril steam at a press corps struggling to maintain its cynicism. The Creature Technology Company, who’ve already had a hit with it in Australia and US, are undoubtedly going to do it again here, but lurking in the gloom… is the Natural History Museum. Not, it turns out, a palaeontologist checking for anatomical accuracy, but the business development manager, Adam Sanders. It’s not many years since museums saw theme parks as the bitter enemy, siphoning off heritage’s dwindling visitors, but they’re batting on the same side now. The NHM is interested, not so much for what they might be able to do in South Ken – not really the space – but for commissions they have for presentations in the Middle East, a very vital source of income these days.
