jotta is pleased to present Aichinger’s series “After Bokanowski” reconsidered for the Edition Space. “After Bokanowski” is inspired by Patrick Bokanowski’s film “L’Ange”, thus providing a platform for the artist to expand her fascination with the unconditional conditionality of stairs. The series depicts the stairway she has walked almost daily in the past year to get to her studio at CSM in Charing Cross Road, the clear directionality having been subverted. jotta is exclusively showcasing three reconsidered pieces from the "After Bokanowski" series, each sold separately for £75 or £200 for the full series of three.

Product Description

Anja was born in Salzburg, Austria, where she studied drypoint and lithographic printing before studying law, politics and linguistics at University. After a couple of years of working as a banker in London, she turned back to art. She completed a degree in photography at LCC and has finished her MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins this autumn. Anja lives and works in London, whilst her roots in Salzburg remain a constant source of inspiration. Anja has exhibited widely in both the UK and Austria.

Anja’s practice navigates the realm between the real and the unreal. She observes banal everyday objects and encounters in a unique perspective, manifesting transformation, whilst raising questions of belonging and longings that linger behind superficial guises. Influenced by her classical education, Anja never ceases to wonder and reflects the world she comes across accordingly.

For hygiene reasons, earrings for pierced ears cannot be returned.

If the item is damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied, or develops a fault, we will refund the cost of postage.

In all other cases, you'll need to cover the cost of returning the item. We strongly recommend you obtain proof of postage (free from the Post Office) as we cannot accept responsibility for items lost in the post.
